Responsibilities
- Establish, implement, and sustain a data governance framework that ensures data integrity, quality, security, compliance, and effectiveness in supporting business and clinical decision‑making.
- Define data standards and develop robust data governance documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure governance and decision mechanisms are in place to address cross‑team dependencies and compliance across the organization.
- Work with data stewards to implement data governance processes such as data cataloging, metadata management, data quality management, data privacy, data principles, policies, and standards.
- Own and maintain data governance practices and management systems.
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement data governance tools and technologies.
- Analyze datasets to identify quality issues and ensure the accuracy and completeness of data definitions.
- Establish required governance structures, including updates to senior leadership, to enforce governance policies and standards, and lead governance working groups/forums to drive consensus, issue resolution, ownership, and agreement on data quality.
- Lead the Data Governance Council and project teams on implementation, coordination, and delegation of cross‑project initiatives.
- Develop medium‑to‑long‑term plans and execute functional data governance strategies.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data across the organization.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with data governance policies and procedures.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical, data science discipline or related area.
- 10 years of related work experience.
- Proven ability to lead multiple data governance implementations in large organizations.
- Ability to translate complex data risks into clear business implications.
- Ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Master’s Degree in Data Science, Analytics, or a quantitative or technical discipline.
- 15+ years of related work experience.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Purview, Fabric, and Synapse.
Lift and carry up to 25 lbs. Frequent sitting/standing and keyboard use. Activities such as kneeling, bending, squatting, and performing CPR may be required for certain roles.
