Software Resources has an immediate, long‑term contract job opportunity for a Senior Application Engineer, Release Management with a major corporation in Orlando, FL. The position is on‑site four days per week, with Fridays remote.

The primary focus of this role is to manage the lifecycle of complex application changes and releases, proactively mitigating risk so that deployments to the production environment are made with minimal disruption to the business or IT services. The SAE‑Release Management will also drive the overall strategy, standardization, and implementation of release management activities, ensuring policies, processes, procedures, metrics, and all tasks defined by release management governance are followed.
ReleaseManagement
- Open, maintain, and close change records in Service Now, ensuring the content is complete, accurate, and timely. Ensure all documentation meets acceptance criteria for the CMO and Parks Technology CAB.
- Attend change and release meetings, including delivery stand‑ups and CAB meetings.
- Provide support for release and deployment management tools and processes.
- Monitor the forward schedule of changes regularly. Identify and evaluate potential impacts of upcoming, in‑progress, or rescheduled changes across Parks Technology. Reach out to stakeholders and take appropriate steps to mitigate risk.
- Evaluate release risks and impact, assess overall release readiness to mitigate negative effects on the production environment during and after deployment. This includes review of release repositories throughout the CI/CD pipeline, regression test results, and security scans. 30%
- Manage releases with a culture of communication, planning, and continual improvement. Lead post‑deployment reviews that solicit open feedback and suggestions specific to each release, ensuring readiness and effective deployment of subsequent releases. Incorporate findings and recommendations into the overall release process.
- Collaborate in both a team environment and independently with the CMO and IT delivery teams on improvement, execution, and measurement of the release management process. Provide tactical and strategic recommendations based on ITSM key performance indicators. 35%
- Foster continuous improvements and evolve release best practices as the organization evolves. Conduct service improvement initiatives through proactive monitoring and improvement actions. Analyze and evaluate internal and external processes, document findings, identify areas for improvement, and give recommendations to improve release management processes.
- Implement high‑quality, scalable, and extendable metrics and KPIs to evaluate release readiness and identify critical issues impacting operations. Identify and assess trends and key drivers of release risk and quality for the IT delivery teams. Recommend corrective action. 25%
- Develop self by keeping current with technology, service management, and industry trends. Coach and mentor junior team members and provide leadership with input on their development and progression. 10%
- Understand and actively participate in environmental, health & safety responsibilities by following established policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.

- 5+ years of professional work experience preferably in IT Service Management, Development, or Support.
- 5+ years of formal change and release management hands‑on experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to make effective decisions while working through complex issues.
