Biometric; Fingerprinting Technician - On Call

Biometric Technician (BT) —

Miami, FL.

This role supports the United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) Application Support Center (ASC) as a casual on‑call team member.

• Complete biometric registration for applicants seeking lawful immigration to the United States.
• Ensure all visitors entering the ASC are approved applicants, providing interior and exterior crowd control and assisting staff in enforcing ASC rules and policies.
• Provide front‑line customer service as a representative of Amentum and the United States Government.
• Safeguard areas where personally identifiable information (PII) is vulnerable, including applicant paperwork, identification, electronic biometric data, and reports.
• Perform quality biometric processing by capturing electronic fingerprints, photographs, and signatures within established processing times.
• Screen applicants for valid appointment notices and identification before entry.
• Utilize crowd‑control barriers to maintain a safe and organized entry.
• Visually inspect applicants and their belongings prior to allowing entry; assess health status during pandemics and decline entry if needed.
• Conduct periodic facility checks (interior and exterior) and report concerns to the Site Supervisor.
• Assist the Site Supervisor and/or government Immigration Service Officer in contacting law enforcement or first responders when necessary.
• Manage and complete accurate administrative paperwork, including tracking processing time, reconciling biometric capture records, maintaining a visitor‑control log, and signing off on facility checks.

• U.S. citizenship required for facility credentials/authorization.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to speak and write in English.
• Ability to stand upright on one’s feet for scheduled shift duration (excluding meals and breaks).
• Ability to hold and grasp an applicant’s hand to obtain quality fingerprints.
• Ability to work in a high‑paced environment with the public.
• Ability to type and use basic computer skills.
• Successful completion of biometric training and certification within 60 days.
• Desired:
  Ability to speak a foreign language.

Hourly rate: $18.87 per hour (overtime eligible under the Service Contract Act).
