- Profile data and conduct quality assessments across critical systems, analyzing datasets to identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and patterns, ensuring data integrity and readiness for business use.
- Monitor data accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and compliance with governance standards by implementing ongoing checks and controls to maintain high‑quality data aligned with organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain business glossaries, metadata, and data dictionaries, creating and updating documentation that defines key data elements to ensure shared understanding and consistency across teams.
- Partner with engineering and product teams to resolve data issues and enforce standards, collaborating cross‑functionally to address data quality concerns, implement governance policies, and support scalable data solutions.
- Support audits, regulatory requirements, and compliance initiatives (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA where applicable), preparing and providing data‑related documentation and evidence to meet internal and external compliance obligations.
- Build and deliver reports and dashboards that track data quality and governance KPIs, designing visual tools to monitor performance metrics and enable transparency and continuous improvement in data governance efforts.
- 3–5 years of experience in data analysis, data governance, or data stewardship.
- Strong SQL skills and proficiency with BI tools such as Power BI or Looker.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA, DCAM).
- Knowledge of data privacy, compliance, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
- Detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving and documentation capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business audiences.
- Hands‑on experience conducting data profiling and quality assessments.
- Experience developing and maintaining business glossaries, metadata, and data dictionaries.
- Proven track record of collaborating with engineering and product teams to resolve data issues.
- Experience supporting audits and compliance initiatives related to data governance.
- Demonstrated ability to build reports and dashboards that track data quality and governance KPIs.
- Deep understanding of data governance principles and best practices.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
- Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and data compliance standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Skilled in identifying and resolving data quality issues across systems.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Travel:
Occasional shipboard travel when business requires.
Work Conditions:
Work primarily in a climate‑controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
