Position summary:
A brief overview under general supervision responsible for aspects of network administration and security supporting software/hardware technology implementation of a complex nature in a Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory environment.
Responsibilities:
Assists in the overall design of the Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory environment including planning, installation, maintenance, and management. Supports selected vendor products to assist in maintaining a reliable server environment. Work involves selected activities associated with a complex, multiple operating system environment and assisting in the selection and integration of new server systems; server design and installation; policy development;
monitoring; analysis of existing hardware and software; and evaluation of potential server enhancements. Works under general direction with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Assisting in analyzing and evaluating selected server technology;
supporting projects requiring implementation of new server technology. Assisting in the development and documentation of network administration standards, server configurations and procedures. Performs general project planning tasks such as project risk assessments, alternative implementation analysis, and project status tracking and reporting. Assists in determining operational, technical, and support requirements for the location, installation, operation, and maintenance of server systems. Assists Network Administrator II & III in evaluating selected new server technologies for potential acquisition and various hardware and software resources to identify strengths, weaknesses, and potential benefits to the corporation.
Qualifications:
Associate Two (2) years of directly related work experience may substitute for the Associate's degree (in addition to the requirements listed in the Experience section). Required 1 year of hands-on experience with Microsoft Server Technologies, Malicious Software protection systems, Enterprise class backup systems, and general Networking Services. Required General knowledge of high-availability systems and SAN architecture.
