SAP HANA Data Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking an SAP HANA Data Engineer in Orlando, FL for a 7-month contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The SAP HANA Data Engineer will support SAP HANA database development, ETL processing, data engineering, analytics, documentation, and production troubleshooting. This role includes developing and modifying HANA objects, optimizing ETL jobs, supporting data-driven analysis and metric reporting, and improving daily data operations through automation and process guardrails. The position requires strong SAP HANA, SQL, ETL, data modeling, troubleshooting, and data warehouse experience.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree with 6–8 years of relevant experience, or master’s degree with 4–6 years of relevant experience.

• U.S. citizenship required.

• 6+ years of experience with SQL, Hadoop/Big Data, SAP HANA, or SAP Business Objects suite.

• 6+ years of hands-on SAP HANA database experience.

• 6+ years of ETL tool experience, especially SAP BODS, Informatica, and Nifi.

• 3+ years of experience with data analytics and/or visualization tools such as Tableau.

• 3+ years of experience performing impact assessment and lineage analysis.

• Experience developing and modifying SAP HANA objects, including calculation views, table functions, and stored procedures.

• Experience creating and optimizing BODS jobs and Nifi workflows.

• Experience replicating tables and supporting data engineering activities.

• Experience troubleshooting urgent production issues and supporting recovery efforts.

• Strong problem-solving skills.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Automation experience.

• Experience creating mapping and documentation.

• Understanding of data governance, data security, and data quality.

• Experience developing data warehouse solutions.

• Experience with ERP, PLM, MES, or related systems and processes.

Preferred Skills

• Java experience.

• Python experience.

• Experience using internal AI tools to improve operational efficiency.

What You’ll Do

• Develop in SAP HANA databases.

• Develop and modify HANA objects such as calculation views, table functions, and stored procedures.

• Perform ETL development and optimization.

• Create and optimize SAP BODS jobs and Nifi workflows.

• Replicate tables and support data engineering tasks.

• Troubleshoot production issues urgently and support recovery to meet customer needs.

• Develop automation, guardrails, and process improvements for daily ETL jobs.

• Create and revise technical documentation.

• Analyze current-state impacts for upcoming changes.

• Support data-driven analysis, metric reporting, data collection, reporting development, and analytics execution.

• Create mapping documentation and support lineage analysis.

• Support data governance, data security, data quality, and data warehouse development efforts.

Pay

• $75.00 per hour
