The OpportunityUCT IT is hiring a Systems Engineer II to research, implement, operate, and secure systems that support enterprise infrastructure and information security.
Responsibilities- System Architecture
- Designs and architects systems and applications that support enterprise infrastructure and information security.
- Performs architecture and design of new systems and applications.
- Gathers business requirements and plans the implementation of institution's applications and infrastructure.
- Supports product evaluation and qualification of new technology and methodology to make recommendations.
- System Engineering
- Builds and maintains the department's applications and infrastructure to meet business requirements and secure standard operating system software.
- Monitors systems and applications for performance and uptime and makes configuration changes to achieve service level targets.
- Supports secure configurations as appropriate for systems and applications, including file transfer processes (SFTP, SSL) and web server configuration and operations.
- Maintains day‑to‑day operations and security updates of systems and applications.
- Administrative
- Supports unit governance and documentation.
- Provides input on new policies and standards within operating units.
- Creates and maintains up‑to‑date documentation on system configuration.
- Quality Assurance
- Oversees quality assurance review for all server‑related deployments and documentation of team procedures.
- Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 6 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure, systems, and applications.
- Knowledge of information security principles, secure system configuration standards, and vulnerability remediation practices.
- Valid Class E driver’s license; the position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus.
- All applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer; visa sponsorship is not available.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $64,518 to $80,648. Final salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
