This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior/Lead CICS Systems Programmer who enjoys working on the infrastructure side of the mainframe environment. The client is looking for a true technical expert who can also lead projects, mentor others, and collaborate across multiple infrastructure teams.

What They're Looking For

This is NOT an application development role. They are specifically seeking someone with deep CICS Infrastructure Systems Programming experience. The ideal candidate will have experience with:

• CICS Systems Programming
• CICS Infrastructure
• CICSPlex
• z/OS
• CICS Performance & Tuning
• CICS Installation & Upgrades
• Capacity Planning
• Disaster Recovery
• Business Continuity Planning
• TCP/IP support within CICS environments
• Performance analysis and troubleshooting
• Enterprise Mainframe environments

Leadership Responsibilities

The client would strongly prefer someone who has:

• Led or managed CICS infrastructure projects
• Coordinated enterprise upgrades
• Worked cross-functionally with infrastructure and application teams
• Planned large technical initiatives
• Mentored junior Systems Programmers
• Worked directly with management and executive stakeholders

Formal people management experience is highly desirable but not absolutely required if the candidate has strong technical leadership experience.

Required Experience

Candidates should have:

• Senior/Lead-level CICS Systems Programming experience
• Strong z/OS experience
• CICSPlex expertise
• CICS Performance & Tuning
• Installation, maintenance, and upgrades of CICS environments
• Experience troubleshooting and optimizing enterprise CICS environments
• Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning
• TCP/IP experience supporting CICS
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
