Business Intelligence Analyst

Summary

The Business Intelligence Analyst I is responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting business intelligence, reporting, and data visualization solutions across Loyal Source Government Services' analytics platforms. This role partners with business stakeholders, senior analysts, data engineers, and technology teams to transform data into actionable insights that support strategic, operational, and executive decision-making.

The ideal candidate possesses foundational to intermediate Power BI development skills, SQL knowledge, strong analytical capabilities, and a passion for data-driven problem solving. This position supports both Commercial and GCC reporting initiatives while gaining experience with enterprise reporting platforms, Microsoft Fabric technologies, and business intelligence best practices.

Pay: Starting at $55,000

Power BI Development

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI reports, dashboards, and scorecards that support operational, financial, and strategic decision-making across the organization.
• Create DAX measures, calculated columns, KPIs, and visualizations that transform complex data into meaningful and actionable business insights.
• Participate in report design, testing, deployment, and ongoing enhancement activities while following established reporting standards and best practices.
• Troubleshoot report, dashboard, and data issues by performing root cause analysis and partnering with senior analysts, data engineers, and business stakeholders to resolve problems.
• Maintain report documentation, data definitions, and business logic to ensure reporting consistency, accuracy, and knowledge sharing across teams.

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Analyze data from multiple sources to identify trends, performance indicators, operational risks, and opportunities for business improvement.
• Support recurring and ad hoc reporting requests by delivering accurate, timely, and relevant information to business stakeholders.
• Gather, document, and validate business requirements to ensure reporting solutions align with organizational goals and user expectations.
• Validate report results against source systems and investigate discrepancies to ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy.
• Present analytical findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.

SQL & Data Support

• Develop and maintain SQL queries used to support reporting, dashboard development, data validation, and analytical initiatives.
• Perform data reconciliation and source-to-target validation activities to ensure consistency across systems and reporting platforms.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering and technology teams to understand data structures, business rules, and reporting requirements.
• Assist with troubleshooting data quality, integration, and transformation issues that impact reporting and analytics solutions.
• Document data sources, calculation methodologies, report logic, and business definitions to support governance and ongoing maintenance.

Microsoft Fabric & Data Platform Support

• Support the development and maintenance of analytics solutions within Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and related reporting platforms.
• Assist with Semantic Models, Warehouses, Lake houses, and other data assets used to support enterprise reporting and self-service analytics.
• Participate in report deployment, testing, and enhancement activities across development, test, and production environments.
• Follow established governance, security, and development standards to ensure reporting solutions remain reliable, scalable, and compliant.
• Develop an understanding of enterprise data architecture, reporting dependencies, and analytics best practices while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Business Partnership

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs, business processes, and key performance measurement requirements.
• Participate in requirements gathering sessions and help translate business needs into effective reporting and analytical solutions.
