Job DescriptionThe Opportunity:
As a Senior Data Engineer
, you will help lead the design, evolution, and reliability of the data platform supporting Golf Now and the broader sports technology ecosystem. You will shape data architecture, influence technical direction, and build scalable, high-quality data systems that enable analytics, reporting, and product innovation.
Working at the intersection of sports, media, and technology, you will partner closely with engineering, product, analytics, and business stakeholders to translate complex needs into durable data solutions. You will also help establish engineering standards, improve data quality and governance, and mentor other engineers across the team.

, with opportunities for intentional in-person collaboration approximately 10% of the time to support team connection, planning, and key initiatives.
What You’ll Do:
- Architect, build, and evolve scalable data pipelines and platforms across AWS and Microsoft technology ecosystems.
- Design data models, warehouse structures, and orchestration patterns that support analytics, product insights, reporting, and business intelligence.
- Establish and continuously improve standards for data quality, governance, reliability, observability, performance, and scalability across the data lifecycle.
- Partner with engineering, product, analytics, and business stakeholders to define data strategy and translate complex business requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Mentor and guide data engineers, helping strengthen engineering practices, technical decision‑making, and team capabilities.
- Evaluate and implement new tools, frameworks, and approaches that improve the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of data operations.
What You Bring:
- Significant experience in data engineering, including a demonstrated record of designing, building, and scaling data platforms in cloud environments; experience with AWS is strongly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python
, including experience developing ETL/ELT pipelines and optimizing large-scale data systems. - Strong knowledge of modern data architecture, including data modeling, warehousing, orchestration, and distributed data processing concepts; experience with tools such as Airflow is valuable.
- Hands‑on experience with AWS technologies such as Glue, Lambda, and Step Functions
, as well as infrastructure-as‑code tools such as Terraform
. - Proven ability to influence technical direction, evaluate architectural trade‑offs, and collaborate across teams to deliver meaningful business and product outcomes.
- Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to strong engineering standards, practices, and culture.
