Job Summary
The Associate Attorney will report directly to the Managing Partner of the Judicial Foreclosure and Title Clearance Department – South. They will work alongside attorneys and support staff in the Orlando, Florida office and carry their own caseload. The right candidate is licensed in the state of Florida and will have worked as an Associate for at least two (2) years.
The candidate should have a minimum of 2 years experience as an attorney. Experience in real estate law and title review/clearance is required.
- Detailed review of documentation related to judicial foreclosures to ensure compliance with state and federal law.
- Interpret loan documents in detail to identify missing items and issues to address with client.
- Communicate with clients in a professional and personable manner.
- Self‑starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to work quickly and accurately in a high‑volume environment.
- Review title reports within 24–48 hours of receipt, identify title issues, and make full recommendations on how to cure title issues to the client.
- Cure simple and complex title issues in a timely manner.
- Review title examinations, pleadings, loan documents, and foreclosure documents in order to evaluate, provide legal opinions, and rectify file‑level issues.
- Create, review, and edit reports, opinions, correspondence, and other documents.
- Work effectively and congenially with a team of employees supporting the department.
- Work effectively and congenially with attorneys and other departments; promote interdepartmental cooperation.
- Exercise professionalism and courtesy when faced with adversarial conversations and situations.
- Effectively monitor and move forward an independent caseload.
- Interpret, evaluate and apply independent judgment and decision making regarding file‑level legal and compliance issues.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with vendors and other team members to create a partnership that yields success, predictable results and credibility.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws.
- Ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations.
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- Membership and good standing with the FL State Bar.
- 2 years of related real estate, title, and/or financial services experience.
- Manage a portfolio of files for clients.
- Navigate local and Florida jurisdictional requirements.
- Communicate courteously and professionally with clients, vendors, team members, clerks, and judges in various counties as well as borrowers and defense attorneys.
- Provide excellent customer service (internally and externally).
- Self‑starter with good time‑management abilities.
- Travel occasionally to conduct training or attend industry events.
- Balance team and individual responsibilities; contribute to building a positive team spirit.
- Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; seek ways to improve and promote quality.
- Possess exceptional organizational skills; multitask and adapt to change.
- High‑level proficiency in the MS Office suite.
- Proficiency in internet research activities.
- Familiarity with case and document management software.
- Good understanding of policies and procedures of law.
- Delegate, follow up, and monitor tasks to completion.
- Operate a computer, fax machine, scanner, photocopier, typewriter, and telephone.
- Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Job will entail occasional out‑of‑state travel.
