position summary:this position serves and is located in the orlando regional operations center (oroc). It is within the investigations & enforcement section (ie) of the enforcement and investigative support bureau. It works independently to accomplish objectives established in the agency strategic plan and the missions of the missing persons & offender enforcement and investigative support bureau (eis) and consults with other governmental agencies to evaluate their information needs and capabilities.
duties& responsibilities:
specific duties include:
- serving as the regional sexual predator, sexual offender, and career offender enforcement coordinator within fdle’s orlando region;
- interacting with local, state, and federal agencies located within the region of responsibility to ensure that each region is aware of the state’s sexual predator, sexual offender, and career offender initiatives;
- serving as liaison to local, state, and federal agencies to track down and arrest absconded sexual predators, sexual offenders, and career offenders;
- coordinating and participating in sexual predator, sexual offender, and career offender compliance operations both within and outside of the region of responsibility;
- coordinating and participating in meetings regarding sexual predator, sexual offender, and career offender enforcement with local, state, and federal agency representatives;
- participating in specialized training in regards to sexual predator, sexual offender, and career offender enforcement;
- acting as resource/coordinator for other agencies located within the region of responsibility requesting assistance in sexual predator, sexual offender, and career offender cases;
- serving as court certified expert in sexual predator, sexual offender, and career offender enforcement;
- serving as consultant for state attorneys on investigative strategies related to sexual predator, sexual offender, and career offender enforcement; and
- serving as the regional training coordinator within the region of responsibility for sexual predator, sexual offender, and career offender registration/enforcement.

minimum qualifications:- five years of sworn law enforcement or sworn investigative experience, one of which must have been in the capacity of a special agent with the florida department of law enforcement.
- college education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours per year for a maximum of three years of the required experience.
- knowledge of and ability to utilize legal, acceptable and effective investigative techniques;
- workable knowledge and understanding of law, criminal, and administrative procedure applicable to general investigations and internal investigations;
