Under the direction of the Custodial Supervisor or Director of Facilities, performs janitorial tasks to ensure that the building and/or grounds are kept in a neat and clean condition. Major duties include maintaining floors, emptying trash bins, clean and disinfect bathrooms.

• Follow assigned cleaning schedule as determined by Custodial Supervisor or Director of Facilities.
• Maintain all floors using proper equipment and methods.
• Empty waste receptacles and replace liners as needed.
• Dust, clean, vacuum and mop all areas as assigned.
• Make sure bathrooms are clean and disinfected.
• Make sure all dispensers are properly stocked.
• Maintain appropriate dress code including name badge.

• Monitor around all entrances.
• Wash windows as required using proper equipment and methods.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Custodial Supervisor or Director of Facilities.

• Ability to adhere to the organization’s Core Principles.
• Ability to remain on task; listening and following instructions.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment (vacuum, buffer, etc.).

Education and/or

Experience:

Previous custodial/janitorial experience is preferred.

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
• Vision abilities required by this job include: close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Standing and walking for long periods of time.
• Exposure to various chemicals.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic).

This position does not require any certifications or licenses.
