** Role Objective
** The Assistant Director of Maintenance is responsible for the daily management and supervision of the Maintenance Control Department. This position’s primary focus is the implementation, enforcement and continuous training on department policies, procedures and protocols. Other assignments as specified by the Director of Maintenance-DOM to support the needs of the Maintenance Department and the schedule demands of the airline.
** Essential Job Tasks
*** Administering the 135 Maintenance Program per the company GMM by providing leadership, and detailed direction to the Maintenance Control and Parts staff.
* Maintain the Maintenance Control and Parts personnel schedule to ensure proper coverage for fleet support.
* Ensures that the skill level, training, and performance of the Maintenance Control staff meet company and FAA standards.
* Ensures that all MX-Controllers maintain fleet aircraft to the highest standard by complying with preventive maintenance, and best mechanical practices.
* Participates in the daily Ops Meetings to report on Maintenance events, MEL/CDL performance and plans to clear open discrepancies.
* Coordinate with the QA Manager to ensure all employee training conducted are properly documented in a timely manner.
* Responsible for safe maintenance operations of Fly Alliance and compliance with all company, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and governmental safety rules and regulations, including the airworthiness of all fleet aircraft released from maintenance.
* Promoting SMS and a positive Safety Culture within the maintenance department by demonstrating identification and reporting of safety hazards in maintenance operations and any other area of responsibility.
* Engaging in courteous and respectful interactions with customers, supervisors, co-workers, and business associates, maintaining confidentiality of company matters.
* Responsible for oversight of Short-Term Escalations.
* Maintaining high morale through an awareness of company and department policies, employee development programs, and periodic department meetings for the two-way communication of ideas, goals, and objectives.
* Will be representing 135 aircraft management during FAA audits and visits when DOM is not available.
* Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Maintenance.
** Location
* * The position will be based in the Orlando, FL Headquarters office.
** Competencies
* ** Must have both the Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certifications.
* Must have excellent Leadership Skills to Mentor and Motivate employees.
* Must have strong administrative skills, to include documentation, computer proficiency, and presentation capabilities.
* Must be detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines, understanding the overall impact on operations.
* Willingness to work long and sometimes irregular hours.
* Willing to travel to oversee aircraft projects and inspections.
* Must have a strong safety awareness and the ability to adhere to Safety Management Systems (SMS).
* Must be comfortable working in an airport environment around odors and sounds typically associated with operating aircraft.
** Travel
* * Travel will be necessary to maintain records at multiple facilities. Primary work location will be the Ocoee office, however travel to the location of projects or maintenance events will be required occasionally.
** Required Education / Experience
*** Must have a minimum of five (5) years of professional maintenance experience in Part 135 air carrier operations with return to service authority.
* College degree or equivalent occupational experience.
* Meets the hiring minimums of the position within six (6) months of the interview date.
* Has no certificate action since the date of the interview.
* Has no misdemeanors or felonies since the interview date.
** Language Skills
*** Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, governmental regulations, sometimes quickly and under stressful or pressured situations.
* Able to effectively present information in a logical, clear and concise fashion.
* Ability to respond to questions from management, dispatch, crew, passengers, governmental employees and the general public.
* Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English, including shouted verbal commands in emergency situations.
** Decision Making & Impact of Errors
