Job Description
Sure Pods, part of the DPR Family of Companies, is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a minimum of 5 years of commercial construction experience, preferably with either a commercial GC or electrical contractor. This individual will be ultimately responsible for the day-to-day execution, project controls, project engineering, cost, risk and business management of a particular project.
Management will be of commercial projects within our core markets: healthcare, higher education, advanced technology, life sciences and commercial. Project Managers will work closely with all members of the project team, including project executives and regional leadership teams. Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following:
Supervisory Responsibilities- Management of all project team members (Senior Project Engineers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, and Field Office Coordinators).
- Mentor, develop, and train Project Engineers for fast‑paced growth.
- Challenge and support jobsite and self‑perform work teams.
- Serve as a key point of contact with owners and architects.
- 100% detailed/hands‑on knowledge of project scope.
- Accountable for project completion and financials, critical success factors, and customer satisfaction results.
- Coordinate and manage the execution of planning and scheduling of projects.
- Cost control/billings/collections/change management/cash flows/monthly status reports.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent listening and strong communication skills.
- Organized work approach with the ability to adapt and adjust as to support the project needs.
- Ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Demonstrated understanding of building processes and systems.
- Ability to create and support team morale.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, project management software (Prolog or similar), accounting cost management software (CMIC or similar), and scheduling software (Primavera or similar).
- Work scope requires complete understanding of cost estimating, budgeting, and forecasting.
- A strong work ethic and a “can‑do” attitude.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in commercial construction, preferably within DPR’s core markets and/or with an Electrical contractor.
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds.
- Some travel to job sites may be required.
