Position Overview

The General Manager (GM) is responsible for managing the sales and order fulfillment processes and teams at assigned branch locations (Orlando, Tampa, & Jacksonville). This includes overall strategic planning and execution of sales and order fulfillment functions to assure the company’s continued growth and profitability with specific emphasis on sales growth, process improvement, customer satisfaction, cost of quality, and people development.

Responsible for P & L, balance sheet, and cash flow. Responsible for leading members of management effectively to deliver total customer satisfaction, company profitability, and market share growth.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities
  • Hire, train, develop, and lead a team of key managers which may include Sales Manager(s), Operations Manager, Installation Manager, and Service Manager ensuring the fulfillment of branch objectives. Provide training, coaching, and/or workload adjustments as necessary.
  • Deliver sales, growth, and profitability goals for each segment. Direct management team to drive appropriate goals for individuals and departments.
  • Plan and manage segment budgets (expense and capital).
  • Review monthly & weekly performance with management team, identifying successes and opportunities, and gathering and submitting accurate forecast information.
  • Responsible for the overall selling effectiveness of each segment and adherence to the Sales Manager Playbook.
  • Identify, develop, and implement local processes and procedures that support total customer satisfaction, both internally and externally.
  • Successful execution of Pella Corporation’s imperatives:
    Market share growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Interpret market research to gain understanding of customer trends and competitor offering. Collect local market intelligence when possible to provide data to Sales Subsidiary leadership. Collaborate with Marketing to successfully implement marketing plans based on market knowledge and sales goals. Recommend creative selling techniques and order fulfillment processes based on market and product knowledge.
  • Develop and maintain an adequate understanding of Pella products, systems and sales processes in order to direct others, identify and maximize opportunities to meet customer needs, and grow the business through daily dispositions with direct reports and/or customers.
  • Ensure efficiency and accuracy of revenue and cost measurement and analysis, strategic cost and revenue planning, discounting strategies, and overall profitability of the branch.
  • Advise managers on escalated customer disputes or employee issues. Step in as needed to resolve significant disputes.
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts.
  • Coordinate communication and integration between the management team, functional areas, customers, other Sales Subsidiaries, and Pella Corporation.
  • Implement and enforce company and department policies when applicable.
  • Foster integration and integrity throughout the entire organization.
  • Work with other members of management to instill and promote Pella’s Culture Manifesto in all facets of the business.
  • Build a high-performance team capable of delivering results year over year.
  • Encourage an energetic, fun sales environment that drives collaboration and a spirit of winning.
