The Water and Wastewater Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that all water and/or wastewater treatment, distribution, and collection operations comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This role oversees regulatory reporting, permit management, and compliance monitoring to protect public health and the environment while supporting operational excellence.

- Ensure compliance with all applicable water and wastewater regulations, including but not limited to the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), Clean Water Act (CWA), NPDES permits, and state-specific requirements;
- Manage and maintain all regulatory permits for water and wastewater facilities;
- Strategic periodic review of state and federal mandated sampling, and reporting to ensure accuracy and timeliness of regulatory submissions;
- Identify compliance risks and work with the Regional Area Managers to ensure corrective action plans are in place to address deficiencies or violations;
- Track regulatory changes and proactively assess their impact on operations;
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs;
- Provide compliance guidance and training to operations and management staff;
- Investigate and track compliance issues, excursions, and violations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred);
- 5+ years of experience in water and/or wastewater compliance and regulatory affairs;
- Strong working knowledge of federal and state water and wastewater regulations;
- Experience with regulatory reporting systems and compliance tracking tools (examples: EPA ECHO; NetDMR, NeTSSO);
- Ability to interpret permits, regulations, and technical data;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities;
- Experience working directly with regulatory agencies.
