Position description:
The Ninth Judicial Circuit Court is seeking applications for the position of Director of Case Management, an Assistant Director position within Court Administration under the supervision of the Director of Court Programs. This leadership position plays a key role in advancing court administration, strengthening case management practices, and supporting program operations that serve both the justice system and the public.

The Director of Case Management oversees staff circuit-wide within the Civil Case Management, Family Court Services and Mediation programs, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, circuit-wide cohesion, and collaboration. Core responsibilities include developing and implementing strategic and operational plans; ensuring compliance with court standards, policies, and applicable laws; and managing fiscal and administrative functions such as budgeting, contracting, and invoicing for the Case Management programs.

This position requires regular presence in both Orange and Osceola counties. It is expected that the chosen candidate will divide their time between these locations to ensure consistent oversight, collaboration, and support for staff and operations circuit-wide. Applicants should expect a balanced schedule across both counties and be prepared to travel as needed to meet program and court administration priorities.

This role provides direction for Case Management operations across the circuit, including workflow coordination, scheduling, case preparation, and support for judges, staff, and court users in divisions such as Domestic Relations, Domestic Violence, Circuit Civil, County Civil and Mediation. The Director evaluates program performance to ensure effectiveness and alignment with court policy, offering regular updates and recommendations to executive leadership. The position also requires building and maintaining strong relationships with judges, attorneys, justice partners, and community stakeholders to enhance trust, accessibility, and service quality.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in fields such as public or business administration, social work, criminology, or law, with at least five years of relevant professional experience, three of which must have been in a supervisory or managerial capacity overseeing a department with a large team. Higher academic credentials such as a master’s or Juris Doctor may substitute for designated years of non-management experience.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and analytical abilities; excel in problem-solving, decision-making, and team development; proficiency with Excel or similar tools for data analysis and show a commitment to public service innovation and continuous improvement in court operations.
