Manager of the Operational Labs group

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Manager of the Operational Labs group supporting the LASSO contract at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC). The Ops Labs Manager will oversee a diverse group of several laboratories, including precision cleaning, calibration, non‑destructive evaluation, chemical sampling and analysis, and additional staff.

Required Qualifications / Skills
  • 10 years of related experience in a technical engineering or scientific field.
  • 5 years of experience in a lead or management position of a technical or scientific team.
  • Experience with Unions and Collective Bargaining Agreements

Responsibilities
  • Manage a network of supervisors and their teams, focusing on delivering LASSO’s technology development projects on time and within budget.
  • Meet with customers regularly to provide status, anticipate, and deliver on their needs.
  • Coordinate with other business entities like Finance, HR, and procurement to ensure your group work runs smoothly, efficiently, and profitably.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of laboratory operations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards across all laboratories.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of laboratory teams, providing feedback and support for professional development.
