Executive Director/General Counsel
Orlando
We are partnering with a mission-driven organization that is seeking an Executive Director / General Counsel to serve as the senior administrative leader and chief legal advisor. This role oversees all administrative operations, provides strategic legal guidance, and drives organizational effectiveness across a complex governmental environment.
Must be comfortable exercising significant independent judgment and serving as a member of the executive leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead agency‑wide administrative, operational, and legal strategy.
- Advise executive leadership on legal, regulatory, employment, ethics, procurement, and public‑records matters.
- Oversee civil litigation, administrative proceedings, and legal disputes.
- Direct fiscal management, budgeting, HR, facilities, procurement, grants, risk management, records, and MIS.
- Supervise senior managers across multiple administrative divisions.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state information‑security and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- J.D. and active bar membership (Florida preferred).
- 7–10+ years of progressive leadership experience in government, legal administration, or public administration.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Strong background in budgeting, personnel management, strategic planning, and organizational leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex operations and high‑priority initiatives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable operating in a high‑pressure environment with significant responsibility.
