The Carpentry Technician supports the fabrication and construction of cabinetry, furniture, and custom woodworking projects in a shop environment. This position is open to candidates ranging from entry-level apprentices to experienced craftsmen and will be responsible for contributing to project execution through hands-on fabrication, measurement, tool operation, and collaboration with Leads and Foremen.
Depending on experience, the role may include assisting with basic tasks under supervision or independently producing layouts, cut lists, and high-quality finished work. The position emphasizes safety, craftsmanship, teamwork, and continuous skill development while meeting quality and schedule requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Collaborate with the Lead and Foreman to build cabinetry, furniture, and other woodworking projects.
- Assist in or independently build cabinetry, furniture, and other woodworking projects according to shop drawings and specifications.
- Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and work instructions appropriate to skill level.
- Measure, mark, cut, and assemble materials using tape measures, calipers, levels, and other precision tools.
- Produce layouts and cut lists as experience and proficiency allow.
- Select and work with various wood species to achieve quality, durability, and design intent.
- Use hand tools such as hammers, chisels, planes, and screwdrivers safely and effectively.
- Operate woodworking machinery, including saws, planers, and drill presses, under supervision or independently based on experience.
- Follow all safety regulations, procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Maintain clean, organized, and efficient work areas.
- Collaborate with Leads, Foremen, and team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Support continuous improvement through learning, feedback, and skill development.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication; strong reporting and listening skills.
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrates woodworking knowledge, including hand tools, machinery, and woodworking methods.
- Safety Awareness: Actively identifies and avoids hazards; follows all safety protocols.

- Entry-level to advanced woodworking experience considered.
- Prior experience in cabinetry, furniture making, or shop fabrication preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
- Skilled in producing layouts and cut lists for woodworking projects.
- Strong knowledge of wood species and their applications.
- Working knowledge of hand tools; advanced proficiency expected at higher skill levels.
- Exposure to or experience operating woodworking machinery (saws, planers, drill presses, etc.).

- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to continuously develop technical skills and expertise.
- Shop and fabrication environment with exposure to dust, noise, and odors.

- May be required to work extended hours or weekends, depending on project needs.
- Ability to lift, sand, mask, and move materials up to 50 lbs. as needed.
