At SA Photonics, A CACI Company, we specialize in the design, development, and manufacturing of complex, state-of-the-art systems for military, space, and commercial applications. Our products include both optical and RF systems as well as sophisticated image processing & visualization systems. SA Photonics has a small team of highly experienced engineers and scientists who work in tight-knit groups on state of the art projects while enjoying a good work-life balance.

We are currently looking for a Quality Inspector with at 7+ years' experience to join our team.

The Opportunity:
  • Inspect custom fabricated mechanical parts and electrical assemblies (PCBAs and cables) using industry-appropriate methods, such as comparing to standards, measuring dimensions and examining functionality
  • Conduct first article inspections for new items, in-process, and final inspections in manufacturing and/or shipping as needed
  • Record inspection results by completing reports, summarizing results, and adding data into the quality management system database;
    Communicate inspection results and offer continual improvement suggestions
  • Confirm that assembly or production line adheres to standards and procedures, complying with legal requirements. Review production work instructions to ensure correctness and completeness
  • Monitor production operations to ensure conformance to company specifications
  • Ensure the integrity of the end-item-data-package (EIDP) for all delivered space-flight terminals
  • Identify and implement process improvements, (ex: mistake-proofing) to improve overall throughput
Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in electrical, mechanical, or electro-mech inspection for an electronics manufacturer;
    Previous experience with satellites or other flight hardware a plus
  • Experience inspecting mechanical, and electrical (PCBAs, cables, etc..) items.
  • Experience inspecting optical parts (lenses, mirrors, prisms) a plus.
  • Able to use standard measurement and inspection tools including pin gauges, calipers, visual inspection system, microscope, etc...
  • IPC Certification a plus -- J-STD 001, or IPC-610, or IPC-620
  • Knowledge of ESD S20.20 and generally accepted good practice for ESD control
  • Organized. Proactive. Independent. Careful. Detail-focused.
  • Flexible within a dynamic environment. Able to multi-task and reprioritize as needed

Pay Range
:
There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$39,400 - $75,900
