We are seeking talented Manufacturing or Industrial engineers to join our team to help develop many best-in-class products and solutions in our Missiles and Fire Control Business Area in Orlando, FL. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Engineer responsible for production support of single point diamond turning and optical fabrication processes.
Provide technical guidance and support to optical operators to facilitate performance.
Apply lean manufacturing techniques to reduce cost and increase yields.
Investigate root cause of failures/defects and implement corrective action to support continuous improvement.
Candidate will be responsible for the leading the non recurring effort (NRE) to establish production manufacturing/test plans, define processes, and to lead the teams activities for managing all tooling, manufacturing aids, and capital requirements and transition the NRE into production environment.
Development and sustaining of manufacturing processes per customers' alignment and resolution requirements.
This role is for 2nd Shift
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors in Mechanical, Optical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college.
• Experience with CAD software, creating mechanical drawings, and knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access
Desired
Skills:
• Candidates with skills and experience across multiple disciplines of optics manufacturing: CNC polishing, double-sided polishing, sub-aperture polishing, MRF, optical centering, and diamond turning.
• Machining experience: CNC milling and turning, conventional machining, and CAM.
• Experience working in a production environment, including creation and upkeep of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and working with represented and non-represented employees.
• The use of advanced optical metrology, including stitching interferometry for aspheric surface metrology, white light interferometry, and both contact and non-contact profilometry.
• Demonstrated small team leadership skills, as well as collaboration tools such as Confluence, Jira, etc.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time:
The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
