Operations Engineer, Quality Engineering
Gas Turbine Efficiency (GTE) group in Orlando, Florida is currently seeking a Procurement Specialist to join the team. This critical role is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring raw materials, components, and equipment necessary for production. Also, to maintain inventory levels, manage supplier relationships to ensure quality and timely delivery, analyze cost trends, and align purchasing activities with production schedules to prevent shortages or overstocking.
Qualified candidates must have 5+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing within a manufacturing environment. Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems also required.
Job Responsibilities- Procurement & Sourcing:
Identify and select suppliers for raw materials, components, and machinery to support production. - Negotiation:
Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, and delivery schedules to optimize costs. - Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels and generate purchase orders to ensure material availability without overstocking. - Supplier Performance:
Evaluate vendor performance, including quality, reliability, and lead times. - Production
Collaboration:
Work with production planners and engineering to align purchasing with manufacturing schedules. - Quality Assurance:
Collaborate with quality control to resolve issues with defective or non-conforming goods. - Data Analysis & Reporting:
Analyze market trends, maintain accurate records, and prepare purchasing reports.

Strong ability to secure favorable terms. - Analytical
Skills:
Ability to analyze price proposals, inventory data, and supplier performance. - Technical Knowledge:
Understanding of materials, production processes, and supply chain management. - Software Proficiency:
Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and Microsoft Office (specifically Excel). - Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Technical Proficiency:
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems. Epicor is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing within a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience.
- While primarily an office-based role, a Buyer in manufacturing must navigate the industrial environment to verify inventory and coordinate with production teams.
- Mobility:
Frequently required to move throughout the building to access files or visit the production floor. This often includes walking, standing, and occasionally bending, stooping, or kneeling to inspect materials. - Lifting:
Must be able to occasionally lift and move objects, typically ranging from 10 to 25 pounds, such as material samples, small components, or heavy procurement files. - Stationary Work:
Requires the ability to remain in a stationary position—often sitting at a desk—for up to 90% of the day while performing computer-based tasks.
