Production Manager
Moss Hill Foliage Inc. has an opening for a full time Production Manager.
We operate 137,000 square feet of climate controlled, gutter connected greenhouses in Apopka, Florida, the self-proclaimed “Foliage Capital of the World”. We are primarily focused on the production of finished tropical foliage cellpack materials.
You will be working closely with your team of approximately 30 production staff members and will be responsible for maintaining orderly transitions while assigning daily tasks in an efficient manner. Your responsibilities will consist of the supervision of the soil team, sowers, transplanters, graders, and order pulling of scheduled products for shipping. You will work closely with your assistant and section leads to ensure production standards as well as team morale is always up to Moss Hill Standards.
You will work closely with the Operations manager to complete the weekly production schedule and tasks list. Also, the moving and spacing of products while maintaining a neat and clean facility.

- Responsible for the day-to-day management of production team.
- Responsible for training of production team in all tasks and able to complete said tasks personally and efficiently.
- Responsible for proper delegation of assigned tasks for every team member based on individual strengths.
- Gives authority to work independently and provides recognition for results.
- Sets expectations and monitors delegated activities.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in all responsibilities.
- Must work proficiently with other department heads, i.e., operations manager, general manager, head growers, shipping, and maintenance departments.
- Observe foliage for proper moisture content and pest prevention as a secondary line of defense regarding quality control.
- Contribute to building positive team spirit.
- Able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives.
- Support everyone’s efforts to succeed.
- Constantly look for ways to improve and promote quality.
- Occasionally committing to longer hours of work when necessary to complete weekly production schedule.

- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Diploma or Degree in Science/Horticulture/Production
or
equivalent experience Minimum of 2 years of supervisory and nursery industry/horticulture experience;
Practical experience and knowledge in plant cultivation.
Job Type: Full-time
Starting Pay: $28.00 - $36.00 (depending on experience)
