Lead the technical direction behind unforgettable guest experiences. As an Audio Visual Technical Director you’ll set and drive the technical direction of any one of our most complex projects, owning and delivering the various show pipelines (Complex AV, custom software, industrial show systems) that bind an integrated experience together.
This is a project-based role and not an overarching company management role. You will set the pace, and you own the results.
Who This Role Is ForYou’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Have deep experience architecting and delivering first‑hand, best‑in‑class Audio Visual and Show systems for delivered attractions and other show‑critical environments where uptime, safety and operations matter
- Set and own technical direction for a project from concept through delivery, making trade‑offs where needed across performance, reliability, maintainability, cost, guest experience and client expectation
- Operate at the highest levels of integration, aligning AV, controls, automation and custom game software into a coherent architecture, unblocking teams when complexity is high
- Set the documentation quality bar on your projects, owning architecture decisions, reviews, and deliverables (drawings, specs, BOMs, interfaces, handover packs) respecting and delivering to Holovis and client standards
- Work closely with producers, project directors and project management to deliver the project both technically and creatively, protecting commercial outcomes and schedule
- Technical direction and architecture for AV & show systems, systems integration, broadcast/production technology, control systems, network and media platforms, experience design technology, cruise, theatre, or large‑scale venue/themed entertainment engineering
- Senior project technical leadership experience with strong systems thinking and project execution experience setting the standard for the team to follow
- Ability to produce first hand, and approve, specifications theory of operations, ICDs, BOMs and HPMS documentation
- Commercial awareness, understanding how funding, change control, product selection and testing link to milestones and acceptance
- Understand and have experience with converging integration pipelines across AV, controls and custom software so teams design, build and execute smoothly
- Expert level technical knowledge of integrated AV systems
- How Holovis approaches technical direction for themed entertainment and cruise
- Holovis documentation standards and HPMS workflows and stringent client standards
- How software, controls and AV systems intersect on real attractions and how Holovis integrates them (we’ll also expect you to bring your approach to this too)
- Set, communicate and deliver technical direction across AV, control, network and software scopes, aligning architecture and delivery to desired project results
- Direct, write and review drawings and schematics, ensuring coordination across disciplines, suppliers and client needs
- Bring together teams who think differently (software, AV, mechanical, media, delivery) to stay aligned delivering the technical and creative intent
- Translate between workflows so integration keeps moving to protect delivery, budget and schedule
- Author and approve system specifications, interface control documents, facility impact reports, budgets and bills of materials
- Resolve cross‑discipline technical issues and manage trade‑offs at project level through learned experience
- Own the test strategy and integration sequence by defining HPMS test plans to our standards and FAT/SAT approach from component testing through system validation
- Able to travel to client sites globally
- Able to effectively work across time zones
You’ll be decisive, collaborative and delivery‑minded with first‑hand experience delivery projects. You’ll set clear direction for your projects while keeping teams aligned across AV, controls and software.
You know the ins and outs of technical integration.
You own the results and will do what is required to achieve them.
