CNC Machinist

You will be the CNC Machinist for the Machining Operations Center (MOC). The role involves ultra‑precision machining, paint and plate operations, precision assembly, and the development and production of complex machined components.

• Set up and run manual and CNC machines for drilling, boring, milling, and turning of metal, non‑metallic, and composite materials.
• Operate grinding equipment to form, sharpen, and finish cutters, drills, and other tooling.
• Read and apply engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications to fabricate complex parts.
• Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, CMMs) to verify dimensions and surface finish.
• Propose design or process changes that enhance manufacturability and reduce cycle time.
• Operate EDM (wire or sinker) machines and adjust as necessary.

• At least 3 years of related experience in precision machining.
• Hands‑on experience with manual and CNC machine tools, including multi‑axis millturn and milling.
• Strong understanding of GD&T, ANSI, and military specifications.
• Experience with programming and operating N/C machines for more than 7 years.
• Familiarity with Mazak and Fanuc controls.
• Experience with /OD grinding and/or centerless grinding, and ability to hold close tolerances.
• Experience setting up and operating grinding machines to form, sharpen, and grind cutters and drills.
• Experience operating EDM machines (wire and/or sinker).
• Ability to work first, second, or third shift as required by the collective bargaining agreement.
• Must be a U.S. citizen to obtain special access to the facility.

This position is based in Orlando, Florida, and requires onsite full‑time work at a Lockheed Martin facility.
