Job Summary

Under the direction of the Machine Shop Manager, the Machinist produces machined parts by loading, unloading, setting, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine or manual machines. As the Machinist you will perform visual and measurement inspections for in‑process and finish production parts. The Machinist will be expected to maintain quality and safety standards, keep accurate records, and maintain equipment and supplies.
Job Responsibilities Technical Operations- Produce parts according to production schedules and direction from the Lead person.
- Load raw materials and work pieces into machines safely and accurately.
- Set up machine work offsets, fixtures, and attachments in accordance with work instructions and setup requirements.
- Maintain equipment by performing daily and weekly preventive maintenance, troubleshooting minor issues, and reporting repair needs as required.
- Follow work instructions, blueprints, material specifications, and surface location requirements to ensure accurate production.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
- Document inspection results accurately and maintain quality reports and inspection logs.
- Inspect production parts using visual checks and precision measurement tools to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Verify machine settings by measuring first‑piece and sample parts to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Maintain quality standards by monitoring machining operations, measuring parts, troubleshooting issues, adjusting machine controls, replacing worn tools, and following established QA procedures.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following all company safety procedures, policies, and regulations.
- Safely operate mills and lathes by following setup instructions, establishing zero and reference points, and applying basic machining math.
- Safely operate machine tools, fixtures, attachments, collets, bushings, stops, stock pushers, and indicating vises as trained and directed by the Lead person.
- Maintain continuity between work shifts by documenting production activities, communicating irregularities, and identifying ongoing operational needs.
- Accurately complete production records, inspection reports, and quality logs.
- Support organizational goals by taking ownership of assigned responsibilities, adapting to changing priorities, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
- Communicate inspection results to the production team and notify supervisors of required adjustments, corrective actions, or rework needs.
- Expand job knowledge by participating in training, educational programs, and skill development opportunities.
- Provide guidance and technical support to less experienced team members.
- Minimum 5 years’ Machine Shop Experience.
- Experience operating CNC and manual mills and lathes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, G and M codes.
- Basic computer skills, including email and Microsoft Office.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Journeyman Machinist experience preferred.
- Ability to create or edit G and M code programs.
- Experience with process improvement and troubleshooting.
- Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Remain standing on feet for long periods of time.
- Frequent carrying, grasping, reaching, pulling, pulling, stooping for parts and supplies.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Normal work hours, Monday through Friday – 6:00AM to 2:30PM.
