Responsible for repairing and finishing parts by sanding, buffing, and applying gelcoat and putty to meet quality standards. This role reviews work for defects, performs detailed surface repairs, and uses pneumatic and power tools to achieve a high-quality finish. The position requires maintaining a clean, organized workspace, following instructions, and adhering to safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
Success requires strong attention to detail, hands‑on experience with sanding and repair techniques, and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, non‑climate‑controlled manufacturing environment.
- Use a sander and putty.
- Review work.
- Mix gelcoat and putties when making repairs.
- Buff and sand parts as needed.
- Inspect parts to meet quality standards.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience using hand tools/sanding.
- Experience with various pneumatic and power tools.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Capable of working in a non‑climate‑controlled environment.
- Extremely detail‑oriented.
- Ability to bend, squat, climb, and stand for extended periods of time.
- Must wear proper safety equipment, including a respirator when needed.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Auto‑body repair experience is a plus.
