Role Overview

* Independently read and interpret blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and equipment methods and sequences.

* Operate stripping and thermal spray equipment in a shop environment while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare and preset tools for stripping and coating operations and perform safety checks on equipment and chemical tanks.

* Load and unload parts into chemical tanks and monitor stripping processes.

* Mask parts using designated internal and external methods.

* Verify fixture setup meets specifications for dimensions, tolerances, and quality standards.

* Install, align, and secure tooling, attachments, and parts on machines.

* Operate equipment, load control media, and execute or retrieve programmed instructions.

* Adjust machine controls and monitor operations to detect malfunctions and ensure compliance with specifications.

* Measure parts and adjust equipment to maintain conformance to blueprint requirements.

* Manually operate equipment when needed and troubleshoot process issues.

* Record operational data and maintain accurate documentation.

* Handle hazardous materials properly, including labeling, disposal, and spill containment.

* Participate in hazardous waste and safety training and notify appropriate personnel of new materials.

* Clean equipment, tools, and parts and perform preventative maintenance.

* Follow company safety policies and contribute to a positive team environment.

* Communicate effectively and support departmental and organizational goals.

* Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

* High school diploma or equivalent and at least three (3) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Ability to read and interpret instructions, blueprints, and technical documents.

* Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using various units of measure.

* Ability to apply reasoning and solve problems in standardized situations.

* Ability to communicate effectively in individual and small group settings.

* Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.

* Willingness to work in environments with noise, moving mechanical parts, and exposure to chemicals.

* Availability to support flexible schedules, including extended hours or weekends as needed.
