Summary
Operates and maintains forklift to supply production operations with raw materials to produce finished product, transfers finished product to storage or staging area and ensures finished product is loaded onto trucks in a timely manner to meet customer delivery requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- The forklift driver has the authority to shut down production equipment to prevent defective product.
- Perform daily operational check of forklift. Clean forklift after use.
- Continually inspect raw materials and product for defects.
- Strap and load gaylords.
- Load pallets and plastic onto trailers.
- Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
- Print production tickets and attach to finished product.
- Scan finished product into storage area or onto trailer for shipment to customer.
- Load / unload dunnage trailers.
- Unload preforms and sort into proper areas.
- Move raw materials.
- Make proper paperwork for incoming & outgoing materials.
- Sit/drive up to 12 consecutive hours (including breaks).
- Wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Maintain housekeeping of work areas.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED);
One year forklift driving required. Related production/material handling experience desirable.
Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificate and LicensesCertificate and training in safe forklift operation are required.
SafetyMust attend all required Safety/OSHA training classes. Must adhere to all Safety Rules as posted in employee handbook and in the plant. All employees must adhere to the Amcor “No Injuries Program”.
QualityMust be GMP/HACCP/Food Security trained.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
