The Production Assistant/Scheduler will schedule all production activities. In addition, verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment.
Job Responsibilities- Implement the daily/weekly production schedule through communication and follow-up with process leads
- Assist in planning and communicating project related information
- Interface with all facets of the operation: manufacturing, sales, safety, customers and other related personnel in and out of the company
- Promote awareness for safety programs/initiatives
- Monitor costs; explain variances and month-to-month variation / changes
- Investigate and recommend improvements including tracking improvements
- Respond to sales and manufacturing teams' needs
- Compare information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
- Operate forklifts to stack and retrieve supplies and materials
- Document and maintain inventory and ensuring production area organization and cleanliness
- Receive, unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
- Check and store merchandise or materials
- Fill requisition and orders
- Pack, crate, and ship products out to distribution centers, departments, or assembly lines
- Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
- Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
- Perform loading and unloading of outgoing and incoming shipments
- Retrieve finished goods from inventory and stages shipments
- Operate tier lift truck to load and unload trucks
- Other duties may be assigned as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to read / write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Training and/or forklift experience necessary
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs
