Aerospace Test Technician
PGS Worldwide is seeking an Aerospace Test Technician in Orlando, FL for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Aerospace Test Technician will support hands-on fabrication, assembly, and evaluation of aerospace-grade materials, prototype parts, production parts, and assemblies. This role supports research and development projects and contracted programs within an engineering lab environment. The position requires materials testing experience, ASTM standards knowledge, fabrication and assembly skills, chemical handling experience, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
Required Skills- 5+ years of experience executing materials tests to ASTM standards and specifications, such as hardness, tack-free time, and viscosity.
- Ability to read, understand, and execute ASTM standards.
- 5+ years of experience with fabrication and assembly techniques such as bonding, sanding, drilling, and material surface preparation.
- 5+ years of experience mixing, weighing, and handling chemicals.
- 5+ years of experience interpreting engineering drawings.
- 5+ years of experience using Windows-based Microsoft Office tools for communication, scheduling, data processing, and basic data transfer.
- Familiarity with composites manufacturing and layup techniques.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented approach to problem solving.
- Ability and desire to learn new skills and execute them effectively.
- Ability to schedule, de-conflict, and execute multiple technical activities at the same time.
- Fabricate and evaluate aerospace-grade materials, prototype parts, production parts, and assemblies.
- Support internal customers on research and development projects and contracted programs.
- Execute materials testing according to ASTM standards and specifications.
- Perform fabrication and assembly work including bonding, sanding, drilling, and surface preparation.
- Mix, weigh, and handle chemicals safely and accurately.
- Interpret engineering drawings to support test and fabrication activities.
- Review requested tasks with test requesters and schedule work based on priorities.
- Help resolve competing or conflicting lab needs.
- Evaluate new testing methods and help develop standard processes when needed.
- Report test results and review them with supervision or management as required.
- Communicate results to internal customers.
Pay: $32.93 per hour
