Responsibilities :
+ The position is a hands-on, aerospace-engineering, hardware-focused test technician within the E&T Labs department.
+ The overall primary job responsibility is the fabrication and evaluation of aerospace-grade materials, prototype parts and assemblies, and production parts and assemblies in support of internal customers for research and development projects and contracted programs.
+ Requested tasks are verified and evaluated with the test requester and scheduled in an environment where there are often competing and conflicting needs to be resolved.
+ When necessary to conduct the request, new testing methods are evaluated and standard processes developed.
+ The test results are reported, reviewed as required with the supervisor or manager, and then communicated to the customer.
Basic Hiring Criteria :
+ Minimum 5 years of experience executing materials tests to ASTM standards and specifications; examples of such tests are hardness, tack-free time, and viscosity.
+ Well-versed in reading, understanding, and executing ASTM standards.
+ Minimum 5 years of experience with fabrication and assembly techniques such as bonding, sanding, drilling, and material surface preparation.
+ Minimum 5 years of experience mixing, weighing, and handling chemicals.
+ Minimum 5 years of experience interpreting engineering drawings
+ Proficient (5+ years of experience) in computing within a Windows-based MS Office-suite-centered environment for communication, scheduling, data processing, and basic data transfer.
+ Familiar with composites manufacturing and layup techniques.
+ Demonstrated sound writing and verbal communication skills.
+ Meticulous, detail-oriented approach to problem solving
+ Ability and desire to learn new skills and execute those to the best of their ability.
Desired Qualifications :
+ Capable of scheduling, de-conflicting, and executing multiple technical activities concurrently.
