Join a Growing Team Designing the Future of Security Technology

Are you detail-driven, forward-thinking, and excited by the idea of turning complex low-voltage concepts into clear, buildable drawings that protect real people and places? Do you want a role where your AutoCAD and Revit skills actually matter — and where you’re encouraged to work smarter with modern tools, including AI?

Integrated Protection Systems (IPS), a rapidly expanding security systems integrator based in Minneapolis, MN, is looking for a Low Voltage Design Drafter based in the Orlando area who wants to grow with us and will support projects nationwide.

We’re committed to investing in your future with training, certifications, and real opportunities to advance.

Why You’ll Love Working at IPS

A company that puts people first. IPS is a family-oriented organization committed to the well-being and long-term success of our team members.

A strong culture of growth and recognition. We offer advancement opportunities, longevity bonuses, monthly employee recognition, regular performance reviews, and ongoing training and certification.

A commitment to safety and service. We maintain an excellent safety record and deeply honor those who have served, including military families.

Competitive compensation. $50,000 – $70,000 annual base salary depending on experience

What You’ll Do as a Low Voltage Design Drafter

Your work will be precise, varied, and directly impactful. You’ll create the professional design packages our field teams rely on — the same style of complete low-voltage construction documents used on projects like The Shane and The Scott.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Creating clear 2D drawings for cameras, access control, structured cabling, AV, and intrusion systems, including full Bills of Materials
  • Performing required calculations to ensure dimensions, tolerances, and specifications are accurate
  • Maintaining document control and revision tracking; supporting field RFIs and as-built updates
  • Creating and maintaining 3-part specifications for architectural documents
  • Initiating and managing the Change Order process
  • Assisting in the development and documentation of engineering, drafting, and release standards
  • Communicating design intent with clients and participating in design meetings
  • Developing internal product documentation (drawings, wiring diagrams, BOMs) for new and existing solutions
  • Independently managing both small and large-scale projects

Continuously improving drawing efficiency by using advanced CAD features and AI tools to reduce errors and speed development
Is This Role for You?

We’re looking for:

  • Two-year technical degree in drafting or design
  • Experience with AutoCAD LT and/or Revit LT
  • Knowledge of drafting standards and processes
  • Awareness of AI tools available for drafting and design
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness to train on our product lines
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand electrical contracts, plans, drawings, and specifications
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Self-starter mindset
Candidates with the following qualifications will be given preference:
  • Experience developing construction documents, drawings, and specifications
  • Knowledge of low-voltage systems (Access Control & Camera Systems)
  • Flexible Paid Time-Off
  • Paid Holidays
  • Comprehensive Health Insurance (100% employer-paid premium)
  • Dental Insurance (100% employer-paid premium)
  • Employer-matched retirement plan
  • Company-provided cell phone
  • Company-provided computer
  • Paid training for accredited certifications
