Role Overview
  • Responsible for setting up and operating CNC and/or manual machines.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, work instructions, and technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, machine settings, and machining sequences.
  • Works independently while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety standards.
  • Multitasks and operates multiple machines when appropriate to maximize efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
  • Read, interpret, and perform machining operations per drawings and work instructions.
  • Operate CNC and manual machining equipment including mills, lathes, grinders, and EDMs as applicable.
  • Make machine offset adjustments to correct out-of-tolerance conditions.
  • Verify fixture setups meet quality requirements and established standards.
  • Calculate and set machine controls for cutting depth, speed, feed rates, spindle positioning, and coolant flow.
  • Perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities on equipment.
  • Assist Engineering with first-run and prove-out programs.
  • Maintain knowledge of other shop processes and support production needs.
  • Follow all safety policies and report unsafe conditions.
  • Contribute to team goals, communicate effectively, and protect confidential information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and at least three (3) years of related machining experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic machining experience including loading and unloading parts, tooling, and performing basic inspections preferred.
  • Experience with equipment such as Horizontal Mills, Vertical Mills (HAAS), VTLs, NC Lathes, Manual Mills, Surface Grinders, and EDMs.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, drawings, correspondence, and technical documentation.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common-sense reasoning and solve routine production problems.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required to support business and customer needs.
