POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Senior Communications and Media Relations Manager with deep media experience, strong news judgment, and a proven track record of securing meaningful national coverage.

This position will play a senior role in Threat Locker communications function, owning major elements of the company’s earned media strategy and serving as a trusted communications advisor to executive leadership. The ideal candidate will be highly proactive, intellectually curious, deeply engaged with the news cycle, and comfortable operating independently in a fast-moving environment.

The role will be responsible for developing and executing media relations strategies across national business and news outlets, broadcast media, key trade publications, and regional media. The successful candidate will identify opportunities to insert Threat Locker expertise into breaking and developing news, help shape executive and company narratives, and provide strategic counsel during high-pressure communications situations.

The position will also help lead relationships with domestic and international public relations agencies and work closely with communications professionals across multiple markets to ensure consistent messaging and execution.

Cybersecurity experience is preferred but is not required on day one. A strong desire and demonstrated ability to develop genuine subject‑matter expertise is essential. Completion of the CompTIA Security+ certification will be required within 12 months of starting the position.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute high-impact earned media strategies that support company priorities, executive positioning, and brand reputation.
• Leverage existing media relationships and build new ones to secure meaningful coverage and interviews with major national business, news, technology, broadcast, trade, and regional outlets.
• Proactively pitch company news, thought leadership, executive perspectives, and commentary on relevant industry developments.
• Identify breaking and developing news opportunities where Threat Locker expertise can contribute meaningfully to the conversation and move quickly to develop messaging and media outreach.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with reporters, editors, producers, bookers, and other influential media contacts across print, digital, television, radio, and podcasts.
• Develop and support national broadcast opportunities, including television and radio interviews, and prepare executives and subject‑matter experts for those engagements.
• Serve as a strategic communications advisor to executives and internal subject‑matter experts, providing guidance on messaging, media strategy, positioning, and reputational considerations.
