Step up. Show up. Transform lives. Join the Orlando Neighborhood Improvement Corporation (ONIC) as a VISTA Member and become a driving force behind real, lasting change for residents and the broader community. This is more than a role, it's a mission. As a VISTA Member, you will directly strengthen ONIC’s capacity to deliver powerful programs and resources that elevate community well‑being and fuel economic stability.

You’ll build a dynamic, user‑friendly community resource database, developing systems and tools that improve access to vital information and resources when residents need them most. Through bold collaboration with local service providers, you’ll strengthen partnerships, sharpen referral networks, and expand access to critical resources for those who need them most. Volunteer engagement will be central to your impact. You’ll develop volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and training systems;

recruit, energize, and equip volunteers to advance ONIC’s mission; and create a comprehensive Volunteer Handbook while building strong training and evaluation frameworks that maximize volunteer contributions. You’ll also collaborate with ONIC staff to strengthen organizational systems and processes, designing management tools that improve efficiency and deepen the Corporation’s reach throughout the community. This is your opportunity to grow professionally while leaving a legacy that matters.

Your work will help build strong, resilient neighborhoods by connecting people to resources, igniting community pride, and empowering residents to achieve long‑term success. Be the change. Be the connection. Be the reason communities thrive. Join ONIC’s mission, where collaboration, innovation, and dedication come together to build vibrant communities and create meaningful, lasting impact.

A central responsibility will be developing and maintaining an accessible community resource database, complete with clear protocols for updates and seamless usage, ensuring staff and residents can quickly connect with critical services.

The VISTA Member will cultivate strategic partnerships with local service providers, streamlining referral processes and expanding access to resources. Volunteer management will be another cornerstone of this role.
