Description Description

The Coordinator position is primarily responsible for carrying out all activities required to submit quality grant applications to foundations, corporations, and government entities. This includes, but is not limited to, researching potential funders, thoroughly reviewing Requests for Proposals for fit with agency ministries, writing compelling narrative responses, compiling and justifying budgets, and submitting complete applications to meet deadlines. The incumbent is also responsible for logging grant writing activity, including monitoring awarded contracts and assisting with monthly reporting.

This position is a member of the Development team.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Supervises:
    Grant Writers (contract/employed), Grant Volunteers, and Interns.

    General Functions:
    • Serves as the primary writer and editor for all applications. Write thorough and persuasive letters of inquiry, proposals, and applications.
    • Proactively identify and research public and private funding opportunities, including new resources of public funds and foundation to support specific ministry needs.
    • Monitor federal, state, local government websites, and other sources for funding announcements. Fully vet the appropriateness and fit of each opportunity and inform the appropriate ministry lead of relevant RFPs.
    • Coordinate and manage the internal application process for all government and education grants and RFPs, including strategizing, planning, writing, document gathering, internal and external communications, and final submissions.

    Duties & Responsibilities:
    • Develop and implement a growth strategy for foundation and corporate funding support.
    • Communicate with existing and potential contract and grants officers at the federal, state, and local government levels.
    • Communicate with existing and potential grants/program officers with private foundations. Facilitate connections between these officers and CCCF ministry staff as appropriate.
    • Conduct prospect research on private foundations and corporations in coordination with the development and ministry teams.
    • Work with Finance and relevant ministry staff to develop accurate budget information for funding applications.
    • Serve as liaison with funders as the agency responds to an RFP, attend any bidders’ conferences, work to schedule negotiations, and seek feedback on proposals.
    • Supervise final production of proposals, ensuring that the relevant attachments are included and that the mailing and/or electronic submission of proposal happens in a timely, documented, and traceable manner.
    • Maintain a detailed schedule of interim and final reports.
    • Communicate with contracts and grants officers, in conjunction with CCCF ministry staff, as appropriate, and ensure reports are submitted in a timely manner.
    • Submit necessary information to SharePoint for all contract and grant files.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
