Community Outreach Coordinator

This full-time Ameri Corps service position offers a great opportunity to make an impact in the lives of others while building your own knowledge and skillset. Ameri Corps National members serve the community in direct service and capacity building activities.

The community outreach coordinator plays a critical role in strengthening relationships through planning, coordination and implementation of projects in partnership with the community. These relationships with community residents, local organizations, elected officials and stakeholders help identify areas where Habitat for Humanity's housing and community development solutions can intersect with identified needs and aspirations.

  • Build relationships and partnerships with community residents, local organizations, elected officials and community stakeholders.
  • Identify community improvement projects and implement them from planning through completion.
  • Engage volunteers from the community to support local improvement projects.
  • Coordinate and document the implementation of Habitat's housing and community development solution in partnership with the community.

This position will focus on community development aspects of Habitat affiliate operations.

Lake county is known for natural beauty access to recreation in the outdoors. With numerous lakes and trails, individuals can easily enjoy swimming, fishing, boating, and hiking. We are also within a 45 minute drive of Orlando with access to the worlds best amusement parks and tourism attractions.

Unique projects:
The community outreach coordinator will experience our community's robust network of nonprofit and corporate professionals and see in the inner workings of event coordination. During their time at the affiliate they will represent the organization at numerous professional networking events, assist with building interest and knowledge of Women Build, Jingle Build Off, Hard Hat Happy Hour, Thanks a Latte, and other key engagement events.

The member will also work within community neighborhoods where we are building strong ties for revitalization efforts to advance our impact through community programing.

Start dates are flexible and based on this location's availability. Talk to the hiring manager for this position about start dates during your interview process. The start date will be 4-6 weeks from receiving an offer and no earlier than September 2026.

Benefits of Ameri Corps service:

Minimum Requirements Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, national or lawful permanent resident at least 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
