Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Serving Holmes Regional Medical Center

Overview

Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Opportunities available in the Melbourne, Florida area. Advent Health for Children and Advent Health Medical Group are looking for dynamic, innovative and energetic neonatal nurse practitioners or PA-Cs at the Level 2 NICU at Holmes Regional Medical Center (HRMC) in Melbourne, Florida. The NNP/PA-C in collaboration with the neonatologist will cover the 10 bed Level 2 NICU at HRMC along with the newborn service.

The APP, under the supervision of physicians, is responsible for:

• The APP is responsible for providing care for NICU and Newborn patients within the scope of licensure and within the supervising physician's scope of practice.
• Evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, order and interpret labs, x-rays and other diagnostic studies per specialty guidelines and under the guidance of the Neonatologist.
• Perform procedures such as intubation, lumbar puncture, umbilical lines, PICC lines and chest tube placement, and circumcisions.
• Communicate effectively with parents, other specialists and among NICU team members.
• Providing education and support to patients' families.
• Dispensing medications under collaborative agreement with a supervising physician.

• 24-hour shifts (8am-8am)

• Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies with Neonatal Certification (required)
• 1-2 years of experience in the NICU as an RN (highly preferred)
• 1-2 years of experience in the NICU as a Neonatal APRN or Neonatal PA-C (preferred but not required)

• Must hold a valid Florida APRN or PA License with Neonatal certification
• Certification through ANCC, or other nationally recognized certifying body
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certification

The City of Melbourne is located in southern Brevard County, southeast of Orlando on Florida's east coast. It sits astride the Indian River Lagoon, with a large portion of the City located on Florida's mainland, and a portion located on a barrier island. The Indian River Lagoon separates the mainland from the beach side barrier island.
