Job Description

Chamberlain College of Nursing seeks Part-Time Clinical Nursing Faculty interested in teaching with our BSN Nursing program in Orlando, FL
.

You will be mentoring students in person at an inpatient clinical setting located in the Orlando area, making connections between classroom learning, simulations, and real-world patient care. You will help ensure students are well-prepared for their roles as healthcare professionals and confident in providing high-quality care.

Scheduling
  • Schedule is determined based on course need and the clinical specialty for each 8-week session
  • Typically, clinical instructors are scheduled for 3-4 consecutive 12-hour shifts, over 1-2 weeks each session
  • Additional dates may not be available, and clinical dates are not guaranteed for every session
Community-Public Health Nursing

Students will demonstrate nursing skills and procedures in an outpatient healthcare center. The public/community health nurse’s role as a partner with the community to shape conditions supportive of health is emphasized through the application of the nursing process, beginning with the assessment of the community’s health and wellness.

Responsibilities
  • Implements the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system, and profession.
  • Assumes responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching loads.
  • Plans clinical experiences and provides direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering care to individuals or groups.
  • Makes self available to staff at the agencies.
  • Evaluates and provides documented feedback to students based on course objectives.
  • Is available for remediation of students as required or needed.
  • Orients and maintains current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with assistance from agency/clinical personnel.
  • Develops and posts written clinical assignments aligned with student knowledge and learning needs.
  • Cites and returns homework, quizzes, tests, labs, clinical paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Contributes to the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and the College.
  • May teach didactic content under supervision of the course coordinator.
  • Keeps course coordinator informed of student and agency issues and concerns.
  • Collaborates with college administration, staff, and faculty to improve operations and student satisfaction.
  • Participates in the College Assessment Program, campus retention efforts, and policy implementation.
