The Nursing Operations Manager provides leadership & operational oversight for an inpatient direct care unit or units. Accountable for achievement of department and hospital goals in concert with other hospital and medical staff leadership.

ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions
- Evaluate the environment and make recommendations to ensure quality service, optimal patient flow and comfort, safety, and compliance with standards of care, regulatory bodies, infection control, and risk management.
- Plan, lead, organize, direct, and evaluate the delivery of patient care to achieve sustained outcomes.
- Foster a healthy environment that promotes patient and team member safety and high reliability of processes and outcomes.
- Embrace workplace diversity and participate in nursing organizational policy formulation and decision-making.
- Implement continual improvement to measure performance against established standards for nursing and patient care.
- Serve as an agent of change, helping leaders and team members understand the importance and process of change.
- Analyze, develop, and maintain an effective nursing delivery model aligned with patient and family needs and outcomes.
- Participate in planning and implementation of new technologies, procedures, and services to support day-to-day operations.
- Identify, recruit, develop, and retain top talent; manage team members including recruitment, development, mentorship, retention, supervision, evaluation, and productivity.
- Develop and manage unit/department budget; respond to changing patient and team member requirements in a cost-effective manner.
- Practice sound business and operational excellence; achieve financial and operational benchmarks through budgeting and monitoring expenses.
- Ensure development, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based clinical nursing practice aligned with standards.
- Demonstrate initiative and situational leadership; ensure exceptional customer experience.
- Serve as a liaison between team members and nursing administration; maintain professional accountability and involvement in professional organizations.
- Facilitate and support team member involvement in professional and organizational activities.

Assure, Engage, Unite. - Perform other duties as assigned and manage human resources functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and performance counseling.
- Maintain regular, punctual attendance and compliance with Orlando Health policies.
Education/Training
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or BSN with a graduate degree in business or health-related field preferred.
Licensure/Certification
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- May require one or more certifications based on the patient population: ACLS, PALS, NALS, TNCC.
- National leadership board certification through ANCC or AONL within 2 years.
Experience
- Two (2) years as a registered nurse in an acute care setting and one (1) year leadership experience.
