SchedulePer Diem | Minimum of 1-2 shifts per week
Position SummaryWound, Ostomy & Continence Registered Nurse providing acute and rehabilitative care for gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary disorders in a 54‑bed rehabilitation hospital with inpatient and outpatient programs.
Responsibilities- Serve as the clinical resource and consultant for the acute and rehabilitative care of patients with selected disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems.
- Provide direct patient care to individuals with abdominal stomas, wounds, fistulas, drains, pressure ulcers, skin disorders, and incontinence.
- Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan and assess patient data to identify individualized needs.
- Use evidence‑based processes to evaluate current practice and recommend best practice improvements.
- Create an environment that facilitates collaboration to improve quality of care.
- Advocate on behalf of the specific population of patients.
- Maintain a safe and caring environment for patients and families.
- Maintain reasonable, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Ensure compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- Participate in preceptor‑ship training for the wound ostomy continence nurse education program (WOCNEP) and ensure maintenance and provision of equipment and supplies, including new product evaluations.
- Develop and deliver ongoing staff in‑services.
- Education/Training
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- Meet all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and the unit/department.
- Licensure/Certification
- Maintain current State of Florida RN license or valid NLC multistate RN license.
- Maintain current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
- ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC required for certain areas; NRP required for NICU.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for Hospital Care at Home duties.
- Experience
- No prior experience required.
