Arnold Palmer Hospital is currently seeking for an Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Unit at Arnold Palmer Hospital. The Registered Nurse administers patient care in an area in a hospital or inpatient setting where patients have an advanced illness or injury that routinely requires timely, intense, and complex care to stabilize and support the patient's medical condition.

These areas require a lower caregiver-to-patient ratio and highly trained team members with advanced skills.

Pediatric Step‑down units Cardiac ICU (adult or pediatric) Cardiac step‑down (adult or pediatric) Adult ICU or other high‑acuity settings Candidates should demonstrate strong clinical assessment skills, adaptability across diverse age groups, and the ability to deliver high‑quality care in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (PCICU) The PCICU is a 20 bed inpatient Cardiovascular Critical Care Unit that provides family-centered, comprehensive intensive care medicine to the adult and pediatric cardiac patient populations.

Services are provided 24 hours a day and 7 days a week by Physicians, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Registered Nurses, and Nursing Assistants. The Pediatric Cardiac ICU staff provides optimal care to patients with congenital heart defects and heart disease with varying levels of acuity. Care is provided to critically ill cardiac patients with the need for establishment of an adequate airway, adequate balance of fluid/electrolytes, hemodynamic and cardiovascular stability.

This includes preoperative and postoperative repair of congenital heart defects, diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, cardio pulmonary bypass, ECMO, dialysis, and medical management of all stages of heart disease.
