Position: Assistant Nurse Operations Manager - ER Full Time Days

Position Summary

Responsibilities
  • Shared 24/7 accountability with Nursing Operations Manager
  • Recruitment and selection of new team members, including interviews, peer selection, and candidate evaluation
  • Coordinate corrective action, progressive discipline, and career advancement with Human Resources
  • Investigate event reports and provide feedback to Management and team members
  • Oversee schedules to ensure proper staffing mix and patient care (including patient flow)
  • Perform Nurse Leader rounds and reviews, identify variance from nursing best practice, and participate in process/quality improvement initiatives
  • Ensure customer experience upheld by all team members and provide service recovery to patients and families as needed
  • Interface with patients and families to provide instruction, promote participation, and coordinate nursing activities
  • Participate and/or lead staff meetings, GEMBA board, or huddles; demonstrate ownership of unit and outcomes
  • Perform direct patient care activities as required to meet operational needs
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Respect the rights and privacy of others and hold staff information in strict confidence
  • Ensure incident reports completed appropriately and follow up with event reports as needed
  • Maintain punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
  • Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures
  • Express ideas clearly and effectively in verbal and written communication
  • Advocate on behalf of the nursing staff to represent concerns of patients, families, and staff
  • Implement strategies that promote education, health, and safety
  • Foster diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Demonstrate collaborative and collegial relationship skills, engage staff in decision‑making, and exhibit effective conflict resolution skills
  • Role‑model professional behaviors and serve as a mentor to coach team members and colleagues
  • Promote a safe working environment and support coordination of follow‑up related to workplace violence occurrences
