Nurse Practitioner - Outpatient Oncology

Job Overview

UW Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner Outpatient Oncology for a position in Madison, Wisconsin. The role focuses on thoracic and head & neck cancers within the UW Health integrated academic health system.

• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary health team to provide comprehensive care to cancer patients in active treatment or surveillance, primarily in an outpatient setting.
• Provide follow‑up and urgent appointments at University Hospital and Eastpark Medical Center.
• Perform routine clinical activities independently, as outlined in practice agreements and scope of practice, including clearance assessment for cancer treatment; symptom assessment, evaluation, and management; assessment of patients on clinical trials; and obtain chemotherapy signing privileges.
• Deliver high‑quality, cost‑effective care to patients as part of inpatient and ambulatory care teams.

• Minimum – If Nurse Practitioner:
  Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from an accredited Nursing Program.
• Minimum – If Physician Assistant:
  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited PA Program.

• Active RN and APNP license in State of Wisconsin AND active board certification as a NP in Adult;
  Adult/Gerontology Primary Care, Adult/Gerontology Acute Care.
• Active PA license in State of Wisconsin AND active PA board certification.
• All Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant applicants must have:
  Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire; CPR certification; and advanced life support certifications if relevant to practice area (ACLS, PALS, NRP).
