Position: RN (PART-TIME) (Urgent Care, Narcoossee Road)

Overview

Job Description Nemours is seeking an RN (Urgent Care – Narcoossee) CASUAL to join our team in Orlando, Florida.

Nemours pediatric urgent care centers provide a kid-friendly, family-centered experience for families seeking urgent care services at night and on weekends. With three centers conveniently located in the greater Orlando area, we deliver expert Nemours care to families where and when they need it most.

Responsibilities
  • Determines and prioritizes patient nursing care needs and directs aspects of care delegated to the patient care team.
  • Initiates, implements, and evaluates standards of care based on identified patient needs.
  • Demonstrates empathy, sensitivity, and insight; intervenes in stressful situations.
  • Perform triage and discharge.
  • Obtain and perform lab tests on patient specimens.
  • Perform intravenous, intramuscular procedures, venipunctures, and catheterizations as per protocol and provider order.
  • Administer medications.
  • Perform and assist with splinting and procedures.
  • Follow orders per provider and company protocol, in a timely fashion with professionalism, courtesy, competence, and accuracy.
  • Prioritize patients based on acuity.
  • Discharge patient/family with written and verbal instructions and ensure understanding by parent/guardian/patient.
  • Engage with patients and families regarding problems arising on shift.
  • Advocate for patients/families and personnel, promoting adherence to the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
  • Act as a resource for patients and families and initiate ethics consult when appropriate.
  • Communicate and collaborate with nursing leaders and inter-professionals within the hospital system.
  • Serve as a mentor, coach, or preceptor, based on clinic needs.
  • Identify educational needs and facilitate learning for patients, families, associates, and the community.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required.
  • Minimum one year of experience required.
  • Three years of pediatric experience in a specialty area, preferred.
  • Current Florida or multi-state Nursing license in good standing.
  • American Heart Association PALS Certification required.
  • Travel to other clinic locations required.
