EMS Transport Nurse

Job Description

Night shift duties from 1800 to 0600. The position is currently based in Millenia and will transition to the Kissimmee hub within the year.

• Practice autonomously in accordance with professional nursing standards and departmental protocols, assessing, interpreting, and reporting diagnostic data relative to patient age and condition.
• Administer and calculate medications, monitoring patient responses according to protocols.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and document findings accurately.
• Provide emergency care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Transport patients safely, remaining alert to hazards and using radio communications effectively.

• Deliver patient care while in transport via the confined spaces and unique environment of specialty care ambulance, rotor wing aircraft, and fixed wing aircraft.
• Hold critical care nursing knowledge.
• Basic computer skills, with the ability to navigate Microsoft Windows based programs.
• Use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions, and revise the plan of care according to patient outcomes.
• Familiarity with Cerner is preferred.

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (required)
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred)

• 2+ years acute care experience (required)
• 2+ years critical care experience (preferred)
• 2+ years ED experience (preferred)
• 2+ years transport RN experience (preferred)

• Registered Nurse (RN) (required)
• Basic Life Support – CPR Certificate (BLS) (required)
• Trauma Nurse Course Certified (TNCC) (preferred)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certificate (PALS) (preferred)
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) (preferred)
• Acute/Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (CCNS) (preferred)
• Neonatal Pediatric Transport (C‑NPT) (preferred)

$32.76 - $57.47 per hour.
