Job Description
Plasma Center Nurse (Medical Support Specialist) supports plasma center operations. You will be responsible for determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. You will work under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician, and follow regulations for the plasma collection industry. You will also provide center‑level support for environmental, health and safety (EHS).
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE) results.
- Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and manage medical emergencies, including developing standing orders and coordinating donor transport to emergency care.
- Refer findings to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues, donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent; graduate‑level recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Licensed or certified as LPN or LVN in the state where responsibilities will be assigned.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Hourly Wage Range: $24.32 - $33.44. The actual wage offered may vary based on qualifications and experience.
